USEFUL INFORMATION
Through "Useful Information" we intend to provide guidelines to immigrant persons.
Upon their arrival in Italy, many immigrants are devoid of information necessary in safeguarding their health, they hardly know their rights and obligations and they encounter many difficulties in their struggle to feel part of and integrated into the Italian context. In this space, more knowledge of services by the Province of Rome is provided, about common rights to all citizens, the first things to do upon arrival in Italy.
Cultural Mediation
The profession of cultural mediation has the objective of facilitating relations between local and foreign citizens, intended to promote reciprocal knowledge and comprehension aimed at favouring a positive relationship between subjects of different cultural backgrounds. The main characterising elements of cultural mediators are communicative competence, empathy, active listening and good knowledge of both the hosting country and country of origin (culture, laws, traditions, etc.)

Cultural Interaction
Acquaintance with others
"The others" are persons who do not know each other, foreigners. A labeling tendency that, directed towards immigrant persons, may result to increased feeling of exclusion and weakening of attempts to integration. Our objective is that of favouring interest and sensibility in regard to "the others", through knowledge of different realities about personal background of origin. Only through acquaintance, we learn to have less fear of those different from us, to shorten the distance, in order to discover those elements of likeness that can bring us close to each other. - . - Books, films, music: to deepen one's cultural knowledge of a country, of immigration and cultural interaction issues.
